Bushcraft is the term used to describe wilderness living skills. These skills would have been used by early pioneers and are still used today by many tribes around the world.
Intro. to Bushcraft: 3 Course Credits
This three hour course will introduce you to the basic skills of bushcraft. Building natural shelters, firecraft, land navigation, knife work, campfire cooking, camp set up, and general gear are just a few things covered. Bushcraft differs from survival in that bushcrafting is done on purpose. All though these skills will definitely help a person have a higher rate of survival in an emergency situation.

Intermediate Bushcraft: 6 Course Credits
Prerequisite: Intro. to Bushcraft
The Intermediate Bushcraft course is a six to eight hour day of refining and practicing the skills learned in the Intro. course as well as learning additional skills. This course goes further into detail about firecraft, wood processing, more knots, several shelter possibilities, campfire cooking including fantastic recipes and some fun camp projects.
Items needed: Fixed blade knife and sheath, water container, fire starting kit, lunch and snacks, appropriate outdoor clothing (rain gear if needed), boots, hat, leather gloves, sunscreen and bug repellant.

Advanced Bushcraft: 9 Course Credits
Prerequisite: Intermediate Bushcraft
This course is a two day overnight course. By now we have learned much of what is needed to spend a night in the woods. During the two day course, students will be introduced to techniques of building different types of natural shelters, creating comfortable sleeping arrangements, multiple firelays, and fishing and trapping techniques.
Items needed: Same as intermediate course in addition to sleeping gear (sleeping bag and hammock or tent). Nightly dinner and morning breakfast will be provided.
